Resident Evil 9 was officially revealed by Capakom at the Summer Game Fest on 6 June. The next entry in the iconic survival-Herr series is called the resident Evil Requiim, and it is scheduled for launch in PC, PS5 and Xbox Series S/X on 27 February 2026. Capcom took a first look at the game, with a trailer at the event, its setting and description of the hero. Resident Evil RequiM follows the resident Evil village, which is the eighth main entry in the franchise released in 2021.

The trailer focused on the new hero, Grace Ashcroft, an FBI agent and daughter Elisa Ashcroft, working on a new case that leads her to the ruins of Rockon City. Ashcroft is seen investigating a series of deaths that are caused by a spreading infection.

Capcom said in a press release, “Graphical Fidelity has particularly made a significant development, providing scenes with cinematic realism that clearly expresses the feelings of the characters and offer an unprecedented level of immersion.”
The trailer showed detailed character models and atmosphere including desolate Recoon City. Capcom has not shared details about the story of the game, but more information about the game will be followed in future.
“The company has long been developing titles to meet the high expectations of the series fans and global gaming audiences for a long time,” Capkom said.
On February 27, 2026, Resident Evil Requuim PC, PS5 and Xbox Series will be launched on S/X. Horror title is now available on the wisleist Steam And PlayStation Store.
Capcom first confirmed that it was Working on Resident Evil 9 About a year ago in July 2024 in Capkom Next Livestream. The company also announced that resident Evil 7: Biohazard director Koshi Naknishi would use 9 again. “It was really difficult to find out what to do after 7,” Nakhanishi said at that time. “But I found it, and it seems enough to be honest.”
