Amazon will start showing limited advertisements to prime video users in India later this month. Customers can choose to pay additional amount to enjoy advertising-free experience. However, in some areas, Amazon has already begun to show advertisements between materials with a new report, claiming that the company has also increased the number of advertisements for users. The increase in AD load is expected to result in the amount of money advertisers for low CPM (cost per mile) or every thousand raids.
Amazon Prime Video Advertisement Increases Load
According to an adweek report, Amazon has Advertisement load increased on prime videoTo double the amount. When it introduced an advertising level in 2024, users would report to be allegedly two to three and a half minutes of advertisements per hour. According to the report, now, the amount of advertisement has increased from four to six minutes per hour. More advertisements are asked to reduce CPM and increase advertising space, encouraging more advertisements.
However, an increase in advertisements is also disruptive for viewing experience, and it can offend users. The report states that advertising buyers will take care of how this increase in advertising load is affecting the user experience. If it removes a significant number of audiences, it will cause anxiety for Amazon.
According to the report, Amazon initially loaded a low advertisement due to the backlash obtained from starting the advertisement level. The company is tried to keep the company with other platforms and use its large audience base.
The above report notes that the increased advertisement load on Prime Video is still much lower than the traditional television channels, which show about 13 to 16 minutes of advertisements per hour. Regarding OTT platforms, Amazon has allegedly succeeded in slotting himself in the middle, as Hulu, Tubi and Paramount+ have heavy advertising loads. Netflix allegedly has the lowest advertising volume among major streaming platforms.
In addition, the report claims that Amazon has informed investors to increase the advertisement load, but has not yet publicly accepted the move. The company has refused to comment directly on the matter, although a spokesperson reportedly stated that Amazon is committed to improving advertising experiences for users rather than only raising the number of advertisements.
