The Discover feed of the Meta AI app is allegedly being filled with private interactions and requests by users, inadvertently shared to the public. Many reports have exposed examples of text chat and image signals that appear deeply individual, suggesting that users may accidentally post them in the social feed of the app. The presence of these public positions has raised concerns between neccess, and experts are reportedly questioned whether the company is enough to protect the privacy of its user base.

Currently, sharing a post on Meta AI in public is a two-step process when a user has interacted with the chatbot. A stock button appears on top of the chat interface, tapping that takes the user to a new page called “preview”. Here, the AI post, the quarry and its reaction generates an editable title, with a large “post” button below.
However, there is nothing to tell users that tapping on the post button makes the entire conversation public and appears to others. Whereas for those fluent with modern apps it is easy to understand what the post button means, those who are not technology-loving, they can accidentally tap it and do not feel that they have shared a conversation.
