GTI of Peugeot revived, but as an ultra powerful electric 208

For the first time, in the history of 41 years, Puzo GTI is now on an EV.

The announcement was made at the end of May, five years after the first rumors emerged, Puezo officially revived the GTI Nameplate for 208, although only with the electric propulsion.

Later this week is shown on the eve of 24 -hour Le Mans, the newly nominated E -208 GTI has also become the most powerful GTI -Badded hatchback which has ever been created by the lion brand.

Aggressive outer

On the aesthetic modifications applied to standard 208 and by expansion, E -208, two years ago, E -208 GTI receives model specific bumpers and doors sils, color -coded wheel arch extensions, prepares to pay 205 inch alloy wheels to 205 1.9 GTI, a front lip spopper.

Not stopping there, Puezo has dropped the height of GTI by 30 mm compared to the normal E -208, while raising the tracks of the back and rear respectively to 56 mm and 27 mm respectively.

It is claimed to be sporty, but not overdone, the special applike ends with a mimic gloss black rear defuser, a black finish on the seal grille, red detailing as another sign for 205 GTI, and black tining for LED fog lamps.

Changes down and inside

Puezo’s sport division work, and allegedly with 9×0 inputs that will once again compete in the top-tier hypercar class in the Man’s, the E-208 GTI’s E-CMP platform has also passed through a series of changes. Standard E -208,

In addition to an alloy wheels wrapped in specially designed Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires, Puezo has fitted applied springs and shock absorbs, a new anti-roll bar in the rear, a limited slip difference and a retade electric power steering.

With the track width extension, Puezo has fitted the Bispok Puezo Sport Break, with a red-painted brake calipers with a four-piston of a diameter of 355 mm on the front.

Inside, the tribute touches 205 GTI, which continues with floor mats, seatbelt, dashboard and red finish on the doors, red accent as well as a mesh pattern on alkantara sports seats, perforated leather and alkantara GTI-branded steering wheel with red detailing, and seven ambient lighting colors.

Voltage changed

In front, the retention of 54 -KWH battery packs used in regular E -208 has increased power and torque from 115KW/260Nm to 206kw/345Nm.

The same unit used in Abarth 600E and Alfa Romeo Junior Weloce, E-208 GTI will be available from 0-100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and a limited top speed of 180 km/h will be hit.

Claimed All-Electric range is 350 km and waiting time using DC fast charger ranging from 20–80%to 100 kW.

A 7.4 kW charger, which will need to be charged four hours 40 minutes from the vabox, although it is fitted as a standard.

not for us

Sales in Europe before the end of the year are still to be announced with pricing, the E -208 GTI is not expected to be introduced in South Africa at any level within the next few years.
