Google has announced the expansion of Gemini in Android devices at Google Docks. So far, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Chatbot was available only on the desktop version of the platform for paid workspace users. However, users will now be able to take advantage of Gemini’s abilities using Docs on Android devices. The chatbot can summarize the text, analyze the documents and user can answer the questions, but it will not be able to perform some more advanced tasks available on the desktop client.

In particular, the company added the Gemini side panel to the web clients of Docks in 2024, but was not available to users through the AI Chatbot Android app. It is a paid feature, and only available with Google workpiece business and enterprise users as well as active Gemini education or Gemini education premium add-on.

Now, these users can find Gemini Sparkle icon at the top of Google Docs, tapping that will open a lower sheet. Gemini can summarize the documents, form the outline of the main points, and suggest reforms that can be done.
In addition, when opening a document with some text, user can also use Gemini to ask questions about the material. The chatbot will then be able to answer the questions. In particular, this feature is available in more than 20 languages, including Arabic, Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish and Vietnamese.
AI Chatbott highlighted the examples of how users can benefit, the post mentioned that Gemini Quickly prepare a method of a long research report, answer specific questions about a budget or policy document, and even create the first draft of the report using text signals.
However, it should be noted that many advanced features are currently available only in the website version of Google Dox and are not supported in the Android app. These features include helping me write, helping me and image generations.
