Apple is interested in exploiting generic artificial intelligence to help speed up the design of custom chips in the hearts of its devices, its top hardware technology executive said in private comments last month.
Johnny Srioji, Senior Vice President of Apple of Hardware Technologies, commented in a speech in Belgium, where he was receiving an award from IMEC, an independent semiconductor research and development group that works with most of the world’s largest chipmes.
In speech, a recording was reviewed by Reuters, Srioji underlined Apple First A4 chip development of custom chips iPhone The most recent chips in 2010 which Power Mac Desktop Computer and Vision Pro Headset.
He said that Apple learned that a major text was that its chips required to use the most sophisticated devices available to design, including the latest chip design software from electronic design automation (EDA) firms.
The two biggest players in that industry – rhythm design system and syphsis – are running to add artificial intelligence to their offerings.
“EDA companies are super important in supporting our chip design complications,” Shreeji said in his comment. “Generative AI techniques have a high capacity to work more in less time, and this can increase a large productivity.”
Srouji said that another major lesson Apple learned in designing his own chips not to make a big bet and not look back.
When Apple infected its MAC computers – its oldest active product line – from Intel Chips to its own chips in 2020, did not make any casual plans in the event of not switching the switch.
“Mac had no backup plan, there was no backup plan, there was no split-the-lineup plan, so we all went, including a memorable software effort,” Srioji said.
