Real Madrid defender Antonio Rudiger says he was abused against the Mexican Side Pachuka at the end of his side’s club World Cup win.
Rudigar collided with Pachuka captain Gustavo Cabral at the time of injury, when the German defender claimed that he was fouled by Argentina.
Rudigar then spoke to the referee Ramon Abtti Abel, who crossed his arms in front of his chest, indicating that the anti -racism protocol has become active.
It is not clear whether the alleged racial abuse was someone in the crowd or the player.
FIFA’s three-step process for racism is stopping a match, suspending it and finally abandoning it when the problem continues.
The match ended immediately after the incident – 3–1 with the actual win – and the players were again arguing after the final whistle.
Real manager Zabi Alonso said: “This is what Rudigar said, and we believe in it.
“It is important to have zero tolerance in such situations. FIFA is now investigating. I can say all this.”
In 2021, Rudigar, then in Chelsea, after anti-discrimination campaigns in football, says “nothing really changes”, but he will continue to fight against racist misconduct.
