The disciplinary process is being handled by the ELRC, the statutory body responsible for the overseas of such hearing.
The Gauteng Department of Education (GDE) has predicted the Principal of Horcool WaterCloff alleging that he currently interfered with witnesses during a disciplinary process against him.
In a statement released on Thursday, the department confirmed that the principal would report to Tashwen South District Office from Friday, 27 June 2025, while disciplinary proceedings are on.
GDE spokesman Steve Mabona said, “He will remain in the district office till the conclusion of disciplinary proceedings.”
Ongoing disciplinary process
The disciplinary process is being handled by the Education Labor Relations Council (ELRC), the statutory body responsible for the overseas of such hearing.
Mabona said that transfer was an essential step to ensure proper procedure.
He said, “This development is part of an ongoing disciplinary process, first stems from serious allegations of unfair conduct against the principal,” he said.

“We hope this decision will contribute to a fair process accordingly. The GDE continues to monitor the matter closely,” the statement states.

Suspended officer
This latest action of the department comes a few days after suspending two officers on incomplete repair at NOORDIG Secondary School.
The department announced suspension on Wednesday, 25 June.
These concerns were inspired by lack of school readiness, despite the previous commitments to make it safe and functional.
GDE confirmed that it has started an internal investigation to highlight the complete facts around the unsuccessful repair.
The department said, “We will announce the result of the said investigation.”
Last year, the fire disrupted learning and extended immediate security concerns among the school community. In response, the department committed to a series of upgrades to restore functionality and ensure a safe learning environment.
GDE said that this is committed to ensuring accountability and restoring the school infrastructure.
“Next, we will announce the result of the said investigation, once it is completed.”
