Regulatory filing documents suggest that the new Magsef Chargers will follow the next generation QI2.2 wireless charging standard. This is expected to be declared by Wireless Power Consortium (WPC) soon. As a result, they can offer wireless charging up to 50W on the next generation iPhone model, which is universally known as the iPhone 17 series. The listing suggests that these chargers will support the maximum power output of 45W.
In particular, the existing Magsafe Chargers of Apple are compatible with the QI2 standard with maximum at 15W. Although the latest iPhone 16 models support up to 25W wireless charging with 30W Magsafe Charger, they are not compatible with the latest standard, which is QI2.1.
While the iPhone 17 lineup is expected to benefit the most, users with older models will still be able to use it. According to the listing, it will support the iPhone model from the latest iPhone 16 to iPhone 11.
