Samsung Thursday announced the expansion of an important health tracking facility for more countries. According to Samsung, the sleep apnea feature is available on the Galaxy Watch through the Samsung Health Monitor App. For this, a Galaxy Watch Running Wear OS 5.0 or later, Android OS 9.0 or later is paired with a phone.
Samsung says that it is designed to increase sleep health awareness by monitoring signs of medium to severe inhibitory sleep apnea. It requires a certain amount of sleep data for more accurate measurement. And the results of the analysis will appear after two sleep cycles while wearing the clock.
However, the company recommends caution that the Galaxy Watch is not a medical-grade device and should not be considered an alternative to professional medical advice. Potential health markers are just suggestions and do not diagnose. Thus, users should find a healthcare provider for a certain diagnosis if the smartwatch detects possible sleep issues.
