Captain Anagarad James says that the welcoming welcomed by Wales Squad on his arrival in Switzerland has been “really heavy”.
Wales’ first major tournament appearance begins with the Netherlands in Lucines with Ryan Wilkinson’s side on Saturday, 5 June.
The players arrived on Sunday, June 29 on their training basis of Venfeldon and were congratulated by hundreds of local school children before their first training session.
James told BBC Sport Wales, “This is really heavy. Locals are supporting us and it is a crazy reception, unforgettable.”
After a week -long training camp in Lagos in Portugal, Wales Switzerland has come up with temperatures across Europe, as his early game is preparation for the ramp.
“It seems real now. Our Betroom employees have done a big job of feeling at home here,” James said.
“This is a very good experience. Pure enthusiasm from the group, we can’t wait to start.”
