The leaked names of those appointed earlier included politically involved individuals.
Higher Education and Training Minister Dr. Nobuhle Majkain has withdrawn the appointment of the chairman of the Sector Education and Training Authority (SETA) Board.
The decision declared on Thursday follows the allegations of appointments of effective, politically associated.
This week, a list of new appointments was leaked, and it was associated with ANC councilors, people associated with ANC leaders and ANC Provincial Executive members who were from Quazulu-Natal.

The list provoked a public resentment, in which the minister along with DA was called to the portfolio committee on higher education, which is responsible for the reported appointments reported.
“These appointments raise serious concerns about the politicization of institutions to serve all South African people. SETA boards play an important role in skill development and economic empowerment. They are not the deployment of ANC cadre, nor should they be misused as an award for political loyalty,” said DA on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, Sihal Lonzi of EFF was removed from Parliament after demanding clarification for SETA appointments.
However, Parliament stated that it was only removed Lonzi when it was already agreed to call the minister to explain the appointments.

Parliament said in a statement, “Despite this previous agreement, Mr. Lonzi proceeded to request a response from the Director General about the board’s appointments, unlike the guidance of the chairperson,” the Parliament said in a statement.
“The committee sees Mr. Lonzi’s allegation that the chairperson was protecting the Director General, especially given that Mr. Lonzi was not present when the committee collectively agreed to the process.”
Seta board appointments
On Thursday night, the minister announced the withdrawal of appointments with stakeholders in post -school education and training fields after comprehensive consultation with his lawyer about appointments.
“After comprehensive counseling with stakeholders in post -school education and training sector and his lawyer about the appointment of the presidents of Setus, I decided to rearom the process, which was looked after by an independent panel,” said Majaken.
“I call all relevant constituencies to nominate candidates.

“I have decided to withdraw the previous appointments in response to public concerns. In addition, I take this decision in the interest of good governance, transparency to ensure accountability of the appointment process.
“In this regard, I will reopen the process by issuing a government gazette for nomination for a limited run of seven days.
“I will also set up a new independent panel to process enrollment and recommend candidates. This process will emphasize qualifications, competencies and relevant experiences with balanced representation in terms of race, gender, youth and individuals with the disabled.”
EFF welcomes decision
EFF welcomed the return of appointments.
The party said, “It is our firm belief that these appointments were not made in a sense of impartiality, transparency, or merit, but instead ANC had a long -standing practice of rewarding political loyalty with the posts of public responsibility.”
“Refill the enrollment process should not be a cosmetic practice. It should lead to the selection of best candidates based on a performance, experience and a performance track record of merit, experience and moral leadership. Anything less public trust will be betrayed.”
