Kolbe paid tribute to OG Springbok RWC winners on 30th anniversary

Wing Chelin Kolbe says that the inheritance of the 1995 Springbox category continues to shape and motivate the current generation.

Kolbe was very young to see Jeet live, but says that looking at the final footage helped to inspire her Rugby trip.

“I noticed the highlights and important moments have grown. That team wanted you to represent Springbox one day and go ahead with your comrades.”

Since 1995, South Africa has gone to win three more World Cups in 2007, 2019 and 2023 – introducing New Zealand as the most successful nation in the history of the tournament. Nevertheless, the first victory is the most emotionally important, seeing its role in united the subsequent nation after a apartheid.
