“I was calm and then when the tire dropped slightly I started giving everything, and yes happy to take 37 points in this amazing weekend.”
Mark Markez won the Italian Motoogi on Sunday to fulfill a correct weekend in Mugelo and continued her dialect for the seventh aristocratic world title.
Ducati Rider came in second place with his brother Alex, and a brilliant initial battle with team partner Francesco Bagania, which increased the lead of his championship to 40 points after winning Saturday’s sprint race.
The 32-year-old started on the pole, but it was not all in its own way, did not finish the first place till Lap nine as he, Alex Marke’s and Bagania exchange of an edge with some thrilling rides.
But he claimed his fifth win from nine Grands Prix, which has been a dream first campaign with Ducati’s factory team, and his first win in Mugelo since 2014.
‘Super Happy’
“I already understand this morning that it was a super special for him (Ducati), even for me because I feel his part, and yes Super Happy,” he said.
“We initially managed the race in Race, Packko and Alex, they know that some time I am struggling a little, they attack me.
“I was calm and then when the tire dropped slightly I started giving everything, and yes happy to take 37 points in this amazing weekend.”
Mark Marx has now won sprints and main races in Thailand, Argentina, Qatar, Aragon and Italian Motogps in 2025.
He is already a red-hot favorite to attract levels with the great rival Valentino Rossi on seven world crowns, and all time record winner Ziakomo leads one behind Egostini.
This will be a bitter bullet to swallow for retired Rossi, which openly called Marx “dirty” rider, who actively worked to prevent him from winning, which was his eighth world title a decade ago.
Fans of the Italian motorcycle still blame marks for crashing in Rossi in the Malaysian Motogi of the year, even though his hero was punished for starting the last race of 2015 behind the grid, in fact the Lorenzo was guaranteed the title.
Mark Marx was loudly instigated by a significant part of the Mugelo crowd after the Saturday’s sprint race that the team’s manager David Tardozi asked the fans to “shut up”.
But on Sunday, local supporters made him happy at the podium after pulling two -time world champions local hero Bagania, who now has 110 points at a speed of 110 points in Standing after finishing fourth.
Bagania won the last three races on Mugelo’s home track, but lost a podium location for Fabio de gennentonio, riding for the Ducati Satellite Team VR46 racing, with two laps left.
This was a disappointing day on the soil of the house for Bagania, and the latest disappointing result in a season in which it is assumed by Mark Markes.
