NASA’s IMAP spacecraft gears for mission to detect the edge of the solar system

Nasal Interestler mapping and acceleration check (Imap) has started getting ready for launch. It was removed from its shipping container on Thursday, May 29 after the agency moved from Airlrock to High Bay at High Bay at Astrotech Space Operations facility. Kennedy Space Center in Florida. Its purpose is to study the boundary of the solar system and how the solar wind interacts with intelligent space. The Mission Launch Complex is not launching from 39A before September 2025.

About new mission

As NASA’s blogIMAP mission will revolve around Sun at one place Lagrange Point 1 (L1), which is about one million miles from the Earth towards the Sun. From this location, IMAP can measure local solar air and scan the heliosphier far away without backgrounds from planets and their magnetic fields. The spacecraft uses 10 scientific devices, which protects our solar system that is a huge magnetic bubble around the Sun. As a modern -day space cartographer, Imap will increase our understanding of heliophazics and contribute to the valuable insight to the space seasonal prediction.

At NASA’s Marshal Space Flight Center, the IMAP went through the thermal vacuum test in X-rays and cryogenic feature, which travels on the Sun towards the Sun, follows the rigorous position and dramatic temperature changes to simulate the environment during the launch.

Preparation of pre-launch

NASA The technicians will now start loading the IMAP spacecraft with propalent. It will be integrated with two additional satellites: Karuthers Jiocorona Observatory and Noaa’s The space weather follows on L1. All three spacecraft will be encountered simultaneously inside the protective payload fairing. The technician will then transport the encapsulated spacecraft in a hanger in NASA Kennedy, where the team will integrate the spacecraft with it SpaceX Falcon 9 Rocket,

IMAP NASA’s solar terrestrial investigation program is the fifth mission in the portfolio. It was led by Professor David J. of Princeton University. McComas has done with an international team of 25 partner institutions. The spacecraft was made and operated from Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory.
