New vehicle sales first half of 2025 on a notable high

In addition to posting benefits throughout the year, the local market has not experienced recession in sales for nine consecutive months.

The up speed in the sales of new vehicles in South Africa showed no one in June, with a sixth consecutive increase in several months, and was ninth from October last year.

3 000 sales crossed

Repeating the results of May, Toyota Hillux once again terminated the month as the country’s best -selling vehicle with its hardcore rival, Ford Ranger, but this year with the sale of more than 3,000 units for the first time.

Nominal response

Namsa said, “The sales of the new vehicle for the first half of the year were now 13.6% ahead from the 2024 period, supported and large by an influx of cheap imported models,” Namsa said.

“Encouraged in domestic new vehicle sales, has been at profit since the fourth quarter of 2024.

“This success was underlined by a combination of favorable economic basic things, which reduced the interest rates in May after the South African Reserve Bank cut 25 base point cuts, which is still an actdian inflation background and better credit access to the market.”

In the same report, Namsa CEO Mikel Mabasa commented, “The first half of 2025 shown how our domestic market is really flexible and responsible. However, the association warned that the second half of the year would present a more complex picture, while saying, “While domestic sales are likely to remain strong in the near period due to the interest rate cut and the impact of flexible consumer spirit, consumers continue to increase the demand for inexpensive and high-determination models.”

Top 10 Best-Sailing Marks replaced

Out of the top 10 best selling brands, only the top three stable, Toyota finished first at 11 690, second at Suzuki 5 221 and Volkswagen third at 4973.
