Proteus name Xi for World Testing Championship Final at Lord’s

South Africa Captain Temba Bavuma Protice XI has been announced for ICC World Test Championship (WTC) Final against Australia Start Wednesday, 11 June On the Lord.

The first ball is going to bowl 11:30 (Slight time).

Bavuma makes a well-round line-up in the headlines that provides several options in all departments of the game in the WTC final for the first time.

Headline to the batting order is Ryan Recelleton, which has been the top scorer in South Africa in the WTC 2023/25 cycle, with Bavuma-scoring charts, not far behind in Eden Markram and Triston Stabs.

South Africa

Aiden Marcram, Ryan Rickelton, Wiaan Mulder, Temba Bavuma (Captain), Tristan Stubbs, Davidan Bedingham, Kyle Verrynne (WKT), Marco Jansen, Keshav Maharaj, Kagiso Ranada, Lungi NGIDI

‘Self-confidence’

A remarkable decision after South Africa’s Sri Lanka and Pakistan were used in that situation during recent trials are at number 3.

Bavuma said, “The Mulder is quite young in that situation.

“This is about giving him a lot of confidence, keep supporting him and just allows him to do what he does best.

“He has an opportunity in a position of a pressure, but I think he can relax from the fact that people are supporting him. We just want to play his game.”

Loan spinner

While Keshav Maharaj is a solitary full-time spinner, Kagiso Rabada in the bowling line-up is also with a lungi cash with Marco Jansen.

While the Proteas Squad also featured Dane Patterson, which was well -educated during his final test series against Pakistan, Bavuma explained the argument behind the election for NGIDI.

Bavuma said, “Perhaps it is one of the tough decisions. We see what Dane Patterson did for us by the end of the previous season.”

“But it was greater than a strategic approach. Perhaps a slightly higher speed than lungi, it seems that it is slightly taller.

“Lungi also has a better record, taking nothing from Patato. He has (NGDI) experience, he has been played here first, not Pato.

“But I think he (NGIDI) will complement that bowling a little further. We have a man like Mulder, who can give us anything like Paito.

“It was probably one of the difficult decisions we had to do.”

South Africa topped the ICC World Test Championships 2023/25 Standing, closely with the defending champion, to book their tickets in the final test.
