Rory McLaroy says that he is eager to climb “another mountain” by winning an open championship on the soil of the house after finishing a disappointing US Open on a positive note.
Northern Irishman has fought since his career’s Grand Slam-Clining victory at Masters in April, but has encouraged three-under 67 to close his week in Omont on seven overs.
The 36 -year -old says he will play in the next week’s Open Frame in the Right Frame in the Royal Portrash for the Open Championship of the July in the next week before a few weeks for the next week’s Travelers Championships, where he missed the cut in 2019.
“I climbed my Everest in April, and I think you have found something like that, and you are looking for another mountain to climb,” said world number two.
“An open in Portrash is definitely one of them.”
The five -time prominent champion said: “If I could not be motivated to get up for an open championship at home, I don’t know what to inspire me.
“I just need to bring myself into the right frame of the mind. I probably not for the last few weeks.
“But is going home and a few weeks holiday, hopefully feeling fresh and rejuvenation, I will find again in the right place.”
