South Africa cruise and guardian to win seven-cicat in Bangladesh Test

South Africa won the first Test of seven wickets over Bangladesh on Thursday, taking a 1-0 lead in the two-match series.

South Africa initially took a new ball in Mirpur and quick bowler Kagiso Rabada ended with 6-46 as Bangladesh went from 283-7 to 307, leading to a winning target of 106 to visitors.

Left-arm spinner Taijul Islam took all the wickets to fall in his 3-43, but he failed to slow down South Africa’s chase as he reached 106-3 in 22 in 22 before lunch on the fourth day.

Tony de Zorzi Top scored 52 balls with a Quickfire 41, with seven fours.

Fellow opener and stand-in Captain Aiden Markram was bowled by Taijul for the first time, 20.

D Zorzi moved to 16th position, trying to play a big shot on the long-on-on-long caught by Hasan Mahmood.

David Bedingham was caught behind by wicketkeeper Litton Das.

Triston Stabs, 30 unbeaten, ensured that there were no further alarms.

Rabada ended with 9-72 in the match, becoming the fastest bowler to reach 300 Test wickets during the first innings.

Bangladesh lost their last three wickets for just 24 runs within half an hour, all -rounder Mehidi Hasan Miraj scored the top with 97.

Nayam Hasan left LBW without adding 16 WBW in 16 of his night off the third ball of the day when a large -scale Rabada Inwinger kept low.

Vian Malder removed the Stabs third slip in fourth place through a thick edge for seven in fourth place.

Mehidi reduced three runs from his second Test century in the next over, when he sent Rabada to Mulder in slip.

South Africa scored 308 runs in their first innings, which was run by Kyle Varen’s second Test century in response to Bangladesh’s 106 on the first day.

Bangladesh has never won the exam against South Africa.

The second and final match of the series begins at October 29 in Chatogram.
