Pend-in for Australia from the first quarter of 2026, plug-in hybrid Ceylian 8 well can become the range-topper of BYD in South Africa that should be approved.
Its profile in South Africa gradually started growing, by BYD released the details of the export market Tang L which will be sold as Sealian 8.
Change the dynasties
Five years ago, sharing his name with the standard tang going on-cell under the guise of its current second generation in China, however, though, is a completely different design as it rides on BD’s super e-platform that offers both electric and plug-in hybrid powertrain.

Based on China’s CLTC rules, the all-electric range has been claimed, it is a 175 km.
DM-P Bazing wearing-‘P’ shows the performance-topping sealian 8 retains the same 1.5-liter turbo engine, but a large 35.6-kwh blade battery pack in combination with another electric motor on rear axle.
The result is 400kw/670nm, 0–100 km/h in 4.9 seconds and a combined output of a CLTC electric-level range of 215 km.

In terms of imagination, the sealian 8 standard is including a panoramic glass ceiling, a rotating 15.6-inch infotainment system, wireless smartphone chargers, a promotional reality head-up display, Khushboo Dispenser, BWD’s latest lidar system, autonomous driving and 21-slip system.

For Australia, but, according to Carexpert.com.auFrom the first quarter of 2026 only, an announcement about Celian 8 for South Africa is yet to be made.
However, given the availability of plug-in hybrid sealian 6 and all-electric Ceylian 7, not surprised if not given for a long time after approval for the local market.
