The key moves beyond the time limit of NSFAS

NSFAS urged the landlords that they should avoid evicting students even in cases of delayed payments or administrative issues.

The National Students Financial Assistance Scheme (NSFAS) has issued an important reminder to landlords and educational institutions before the prescribed housing payment for 17 April 2025.

The plan confirmed that the presentations for this payment cycle should be done by noon on 9 April 2025.

Institutions should submit confirmation.

NSFAS asked all universities and TVET colleges to ensure that they confirm the students who have applied for the NSFAS-recognized housing.

These lists should be approved by the respective institutions to confirm the eligibility of students for housing or transport allowances.

“In the preparation of this payment cycle, all solution partners are expected to submit a comprehensive list of students in NSFAS-recognized housing. They will be verified by institutions,” said this.

The scheme further said that students who cannot appear in the verified list, but are registered and live in recognized housing, will still be considered.

“Payment will be processed based on the registration template submitted by the institutions,” it said.

The landlords urged the students not to evict

NSFAS urged the landlords that they should avoid evicting students even in cases of delayed payments or administrative issues.

The scheme states that the zamindars should continue working closely with the NSFA and follow the guidelines presented.

“This collaboration is important to ensure that students, who are often in weak conditions, maintained their studies and maintaining stable positions,” said this.

Resolve discrepancies

The institution should report any discrepancies. This is for students living in particularly recognized housing, who may have been released from the list presented.

NSFAS stated that this solution will work with partners to immediately resolve these issues.

“We are committed to collaboration with institutions and housing providers. (This cooperation objective) to identify and implement long -term solutions for challenges in private student housing sector,” said this.
