YouTube music is quietly updated with a new feature that allows users to watch the song when it is offline. Users who have downloaded tracks with songs on YouTube music will now be able to see when their phone does not have an internet connection. The music streaming platform -owned music streaming platform added further functionality of rivals Spotify and Apple Music, which currently does not display the song when a device is offline. Seva added support for voting on songs in the first associate playlist.
YouTube music now shows the song automatically for downloaded songs
A reddit user Recently discovered The songs for the downloaded track were available on YouTube music for Android (Through Android Authority). There is no mention of the feature in the notes released for the recent versions of the app through the Play Store, and this feature seems to be quietly enabled by the company.
Gadgets 360 were unable to confirm that this feature was working on YouTube music for Android, even after installing the latest version of the app. When it is available, users will be able to tap Song Tab to watch songs for a song while offline. Meanwhile, the user reports suggest that this feature is currently unable to YouTube music for iOS.
It is worth noting that while rivals Spotify and Apple Music also allow users to see songs while listening to songs, both these platforms have to add support for offline songs yet. When you do not have an internet connection, this feature can come in handy when listening to music. These include long race flights, or passing through an area in which network coverage is poor while taking metro.
Last month, YouTube announced that it was Adding support for “voting” to the playlistThis feature is available in the collaborative playlists, which allows users to create a playlist simultaneously, and it adds new upwot and downwot buttons to each song in a playlist.
Once this feature is capable of the user’s account, they can vote on the tracks in a collaborative playlist, and it will take the track to the top or bottom of the list. The ability to vote on these playlists is currently available on YouTube music and main YouTube app, according to the company.
